REGISTRATION FEES
Note that the single event tickets for Industry Day, D-CON, and Friday Workshops do NOT include neither the Welcome Reception on Monday nor the ticket for the Social Event on Wednesday. Moreover, the single event ticket for Monday does only include one ticket for the Welcome Reception.
Additionally, you may purchase extra tickets for the Welcome Reception on March, 6th, and, for the Social Event on March, 8th:
Note that early registration ends on February, 1st, 2023.
SCHOLARSHIPS
FM23 organizers grant scholarships for (doctoral) students and young researchers to support their participation at the FM Conference in Lübeck. The scholarship is realized as a free registration for the whole Conference Week.
Preference will be given to students
- from countries where access to travel funds is difficult
- being an author or a co-author of a paper at one of the event of the FM23 week.
The deadline for application is January 1st, 2023. The number of scholarships is limited. Applicants are required to submit short application (max. 1 page) containing:
- your name, affiliation, your e-mail address,
- the name and e-mail address of your supervisor,
- in case you have a paper accepted to one of the FM week events, its title and whether you will be presenting the paper yourself or not,
- indication what events you are going to attend during FM week,
- a short explanation of the reason(s) why funding is required, indicating whether your university is providing any funding for your trip and to what extent, and any specific information useful for assessing your case.
Please be considerate, the stipends are meant to enable everyone to come to the conference when their participation is endangered by financial inequalities.

If your application is accepted, you will receive information needed for free registration. If your application is rejected, you will be able to register at the early-deadline rate until the late deadline. The applicants will be notified not later that on January 15th 2023.

The Venue FM’23 will take place at the University of Lübeck from March 6th to 10th 2023 in Lübeck, Germany.
Lübeck
The „Nordic beauty“ Lübeck is a city located in Northern Germany in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region and, with around 217,000 inhabitants, it is the second-largest city on the German Baltic Coast. Lübeck is famous for its remarkable Old Town Island, which is Germany’s most extensive UNESCO World Heritage Site with numerous historical red brickwork monuments and buildings. University of Lübeck
The University of Lübeck is a top-ranked university with more than 5.000 students and employing around 2,500 people. It has a research and teaching focus on life sciences, especially medicine and informatics. As the conference time is after the teaching period, we can make use of the modern facilities in the Audimax building, situated centrally in the university campus, which can be easily reached from Lübeck’s historic district.
Spaces
The Audimax provides state-of-the-art auditoriums and meeting rooms of different capacities. The spacious foyer is a perfect location for coffee breaks, receptions and exhibitions. The main auditorium (AM 1) has a capacity of over 450 participants and is equipped with state of the art sound, light and media technology.
Accommodations
As Lübeck is a popular travel destination, there are many hotels of all price classes. Most of them are located in the beautiful old town (downtown) of Lübeck, which is approx. 15 min by bus from the campus, and downtown is the preferable place to stay. Nevertheless, there are some options also close to the campus. Moreover, Lübeck offers a great variety of (shared) apartments located in downtown which can also be booked via Booking.com or AirBnB. How to get a ticket:
You can buy your ticket for a single ride or for a whole week directly in the bus at the driver. Cash and creditcards (except American Express and Diners Club) are accepted.
You can also buy your ticket digital by using the App „DB Navigator“.
By bus from Lübeck Central Station / ZOB:
- After leaving the central station by the main entrance and crossing the street, you can reach the ZOB (central bus station) via a passage.
- Take bus N° 1, Direction “Hochschulstadtteil” (14 stops) or N° 32, Direction “Stephensonstraße” (2 stops) and leave the bus at the stop “Stephensonstraße” when you take the bus N° 1 or at the stop “Bessemer Straße – Lübeck” when you take the bus N° 32.
- When you get off the bus, go towards the south until you see the Audimax building in front of you, check the picture above.
You can arrive in Lübeck by plane.
Lübeck has its own small airport, please check it out while booking your flight.
Alternatively the nearest airport to Lübeck is Hamburg.
By train from Lübeck Airport:
- After leaving the airport through the main entrance, walk 450 metres along the street in the left direction to the railway station “Lübeck Flughafen(Bahn)”.
- Then take the RE83 train in the direction of “Lübeck Hbf” and leave the train at the station “Lübeck, Hochschulstadtteil”.
- When you leave the train, turn right in a north-westerly direction and follow the road to “Berliner Allee” and cross the road into “Maria-Goeppert-Straße“.
- Then take the fifth street on the right and then left on the “Max-Linde-Weg”.
- You will find the Audimax building on the right side, check the picture above.
By bus from Lübeck Airport:
- After leaving the airport, through the main entrance, walk 200 metres in the right direction to the bus station “Flughafen (Bus) – Lübeck“.
- Take bus no. 6 in the direction of “Hamburger Straße” and get off at the station “Universitätsstraße“.
- When you get off, go right towards the northwest and turn onto the street “Universitätsstraße“.
- Turn the second Street left and then right.
- After that, turn left and then right.
- Follow the street until you see the Audimax Building on your left side.
By train from Hamburg Airport:
- At the airport, go down to the S-Bahn station “Hamburg Airport (Flughafen)” and take the train S1 in the direction of “Wedel“.
- Get off at the station “Hamburg Hbf” (Hamburg Central Station).
- At the central station in Hamburg, take the train RE80 in the direction of “Lübeck Hbf“.
- Get off at the station “Lübeck, Hauptbahnhof” (Lübeck Central Station).
- After leaving the central station by the main entrance and crossing the street, you can reach the ZOB (central bus station) via a passage.
- Take bus N° 1, Direction “Hochschulstadtteil” (14 stops) or N° 32, Direction “Stephensonstraße” (2 stops) and leave the bus at the stop “Stephensonstraße” when you take the bus N° 1 or at the stop “Bessemer Straße – Lübeck” when you take the bus N° 32.

By car:
- We do NOT RECOMMEND traveling by car, as parking is an issue.
- If you still plan to come by car, use Maria-Goeppert-Straße 2, 23562 Lübeck as direction for your navigation system.
- There is a parking facility on your left and we have reserved some parking lots for the conference. Please send us an email and we can provide parking codes on a first-come first-serve basis.

Welcome Reception
The Welcome Reception is taking place on Monday, March 6th, at 19:00 at the Rathaus Lübeck in the city center.
Admission starts at 18:45 at the main entrance facing Breite Str. After a warm welcome by our mayor Jan Lindenau, fingerfood will be served.

City Tour & Conference Dinner
On Wednesday, March 8th, to foster our interaction, we provide a joint guided city tour by boat as well as social dinner. We meet at 16:45 at the Meeting Point for boarding. Our guided city tour by boat (in English) showing us the the beauty of Lübeck from a water perspective starts at 17:00 sharp!. The boat trip lasts for about 1h with no stops.
Our boat trip ends at the historical port building “Schuppen 9” where we will have our Conference Dinner. In case you prefer to skip the boat trip note that the Conference Dinner is expected to start at 18:30.
The Conference Dinner is planned to end latest at 23:00.
